THE HOME OF TAMIYA RYU IAI IN EUROPE

This is a non-profit volunteer group with headquarters in Belgium, dedicated to the research and training in a classical art of iaido (Japanese swordmanship)

called Tamiya Ryu.

The Tamiya school of iai has a long history and was founded more than 400 years ago by Tamiya Heibei Narimasa.

The name of this contemporary group is refering to the name of the Kamon

(family crest) of the main teacher Katsumata sensei, and is called "Ageha no chô":

a butterfly with erected wings.

It is the courtesy of Katsumata sensei, 8 dan kyoshi, to let us use his crest.

In adition we are members of the All Japan Kendo Federation (ZNKR) 

and as a consequence we also study the sword techniques of the ZNKR,

as well as the techniques with the wooden stick (Jodo).

Thursday 19:30 - 21:00 iaido (sword)

Location: Sint-Eloois Winkel, Gemeentelijke sporthal, Dorpsplein

Training2:

Sunday: 09:00 - 10:15 jodo (stick)

Sunday: 10:15 - 11:30 iaido (sword)

Location: Zwevegem, Sporthal, Bekaertstraat 4
